Kia and Electrify America have announced that the new EV9 three-row SUV will come with some complimentary charging in the US. The EV9 is the third vehicle from the brand to receive free charging from this network, following the EV6 and the Niro. Electrify America has over 3,729 chargers in the US, with a mobile app helping you to find one nearby.

US customers who purchase an EV9 are now eligible to receive 1,000 kWh complimentary charging via the Electrify America network. The deal is available for customers purchasing a 2024 Kia EV9 electric SUV for the first time. Kia already has a multi-year agreement with Electrify America, offering complimentary charging to owners of the Niro and EV6.

The Electrify America network has 3,729 fast chargers across 859 stations, with over 100 more upcoming charging points. You can use the company’s app, available for iOS and Android, to find a suitable charging station and view charger availability in real time. Once you have used your complimentary charging allowance, you can use the app to pay for further charging sessions. The Kia EV9, a three-row SUV, is already available to order in the US.

The new model comes as standard with a 76.1 kWh battery, with customers given the option to upgrade to a 99.8 kWh power pack, providing an estimated 304 miles (~489 km) range when combined with a single motor. The EV has a maximum charging rate of 236kW, and the 11kW onboard charger supports Level 2 charging; the Electrify America network contains 111 Level 2 chargers. The charging network notes that customers will have three years from the date of purchase to redeem their complimentary charging. The benefit must be triggered from the Electrify America app and does not cover additional charges such as idle fees.
