Deal | JBL Bar 5.0 soundbar with Dolby Atmos drops to lowest Amazon price ever
Affordable soundbars are a great option for TV owners who would like to easily upgrade the often disappointing sound quality of their home theater screen. However some of these wallet-friendly systems do not sport some advanced functionalities such as Dolby Atmos support or 4K passthrough via HDMI. Thankfully, the JBL Bar 5.0 is one of the cheaper soundbars that has these two sought-after features.
Most importantly, the JBL Bar has now returned to one of its lowest price points ever as Amazon has put the 5.0 soundbar on sale for US$199 including free shipping. This deal easily beats Amazon's previous all-time low of US$230 according to Camelcamelcamel, and it matches a very popular sale from earlier this year. Prospective buyers should note that this standalone system does not include separate surround speakers, but the JBL Bar 5.0 uses MutliBeam technology in order to create a Virtual Dolby Atmos sound stage.
Unlike another recently discounted JBL product, the Bar 5.0 soundbar was part of the 2021 model year and is slowly being phased out now that the 2023 successors have been on the market for a few months. Despite its age, some reviews have praised this Dolby Atmos speaker system for its automatic calibration and respectable bass despite the lacking subwoofer. On the other hand, users won't have many sound adjustment options, and the American manufacturer does not offer a corresponding smartphone app for this soundbar. Nonetheless, this Amazon deal is worth a look for everyone who is currently in the market for a US$200 audio upgrade.
