A new Intel Core Ultra 7 268V Geekbench listing has surfaced online. It scores 2,915 and 11,448, putting it ahead of AMD's top-spec Strix Point SKU. Intel will unveil it, and other Lunar Lake SKUs, in early September.

Geekbench listings of Intel Lunar Lake CPUs have confirmed it will perform on par with AMD's Strix Point equivalents. With Strix Point out and about, the silicon's performance has likely capped out, while Lunar Lake still has scope for improvements ahead of its September launch. A new Geekbench listing suggests Lunar Lake could potentially cement its lead over Strix Point soon.

In Geekbench 6.2.1, the Intel Core Ultra 7 268V scores 2,915 and 11,448 points. That is much higher than its previous showing of 2,713 and 10,036. In fact, it even trounces the flagship Core Ultra 9 288V (2,901/9,596) while running at a slightly lower boost clock (4.9 GHz on the Ultra 7 vs 5.1 GHz on the Ultra 9). Hence, one can reasonably extrapolate that the Core Ultra 9 288V could easily breach the 3,000 figure mar in single-core performance. The Core Ultra 7 268V was found on an unnamed SKU from Khadas, a mini-PC maker.

Meanwhile, our tests determine AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 averages around 2,857 and 15,221 in Geekbench 6 with a 5.1 GHz boost clock. However, a  recent rumour states AMD has more Strix Point SKUs lined up with "higher numbers", which tacitly imply they could arrive with a performance boost. The next-gen Strix Halo SKUs could also take back the lead, although they'll probably have Intel's Panther Lake CPUs to worry about at launch.
