Intel Core Ultra 285K already sold out, retailers expecting re-stock this weekend
Yesterday, on October 25th, Intel unveiled the Core Ultra processors (also known as the Arrow Lake-S CPUs), and soon after, retailers listed the next gen lineup on the site. Despite the mixed reviews on gaming performance, it looks like the flagship model, the Core Ultra 9 285K, is already out of stock.
According to the latest report from Akiba, the flagship processor was sold out in a flash in Japan. In the same report, one of the retailers noted that the initial distribution stock was already low to begin with. But in any case, it seems like the Core Ultra 9 285K was sold out rather quickly.
At the moment, it can only be bought at Tsukumo PC and Tsukumo eX in Tokyo, where the processor is being sold in bulk. Further, a few retailers have bundled it up with the Intel Z890 motherboard. This sounds ideal for customers who want to get the new LGA 1851 motherboard along with the processor. The Akiba report also says that a store employee mentioned that buyers will be able to get their hands on the CPU this weekend when they'd be restocked.
Meanwhile, in the US, we ran a quick check on popular retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg. At the time of writing, the Core Ultra 9 285K is sold out on Newegg and Best Buy. Meanwhile, the CPU doesn't seem to be listed on Amazon. In the meantime, you can check out the Core Ultra 7 265K (curr. $404 on Amazon), which is the next best CPU from the Arrow Lake-S lineup.
In case you missed it, after releasing the Core Ultra 200V processors in September, Intel has released its next lineup - the Core Ultra 200 desktop CPUs. Along with the processors, Intel has also rolled out the Intel Z890, which features the new LGA 1851 socket.
