Iconia A500 3.1 update begins rolling out

Teaser
Honeycomb update begins rolling out in Germany, delayed for Indian users

We’d previously learned about the existence of a 3.1 update for Acer’s Iconia A500 thanks to multiple sources, and now it looks like the software is finally going official.

According to the Acer's Duetschland Facebook page, the update cycle for the device has begun for German owners and is currently being released over the air. Unfortunately, the update could take a while to reach users since priority is based on the device’s serial number.

On the other hand, A500 users out of India had also been informed that the update was forthcoming, but now it looks as if it was all a misunderstanding. Although an OTA update was indeed released, it was only a 3.01 update and it has been confirmed that the actual 3.1 update won’t be reaching India till mid-August due to “lack of proper support by telecom operators”.

In addition, U.S. users have yet to receive any update or even promises for that matter, but hopefully it won't be too long now.
