Home Assistant releases app update with new experimental feature

A new version of the Home assistant app is now available for iOS users. The version 2026.10.3 update arrived a few weeks after the first release in the 2026.10.x cycle. These earlier releases added features like Apple Watch location reporting and optimized layout for the new iPhone Duo.
Now Home Assistant version 2026.10.3 makes three changes to the iOS app. First up is a new testing feature found in the company's labs area. According to the release notes, this iOS update lays the foundation for a new two-way audio function. This requires users to also be running the 2026.11.0 core software. The two-way audio feature adds a ‘talk’ button to the live stream from a camera or doorbell, allowing you to easily communicate with a visitor.
Home Assistant has also fixed two issues on the iPhone Duo. One of these addresses a problem linked to the foldable’s side-by-side mode, while another tackles a server switching related bug. On top of this, the app has been optimized for the iPhone Duo when in "tent", "flat_portrait" and "flat_landscape" modes.
You can now download Home Assistant version 2026.10.3 for iOS from the Apple App Store. It is unclear precisely when iOS software version 2026.11.0 could arrive.
