HTC takes 51% in the mobile audio player Beats Electronics
Taiwan mobile giant HTC announced yesterday that it has entered in an acquisition deal with US-based mobile audio specialist Beats Electronics. This $309 million deal will let HTC take over 51% of Beats – according to a company filing on Taiwan Stock Exchange and reported by Digitimes.
This acquisition will leverage the audio experience in HTC’s upcoming smartphones and tablets and is expected to be in place from this fall.
