Balancing for business. HP’s latest laptop in the ProBook S-series aims to balance form, function and specifications for professional users on a budget. Does it combine these demands into a solid business laptop?
Source: PC Mag

For small businesses having to make do with a tight budget, the HP ProBook 4430s provides a competent, professional looking laptop that can meet the demands of a busy professional, whether in the office or on the road. While you'll still feel the compromise in a few areas, like the lack of mobile broadband or the 3:31 battery-life, overall the 4430s is a solid solution for small business and home-based professionals. Anyone who demands faster performance or a better feature set will probably be better off with the Editors' Choice Dell Vostro 3350.

HP’s ProBook 4430s is a computer with very few flaws, but it’s not exactly something you’ll be bragging to your friends about. It’s a very good option for a person or business that needs a reliable computer with all the necessary features–plus some very useful perks–but doesn’t want to spend a lot to get it.

Although the ProBook 4430s has a few minor flaws, it's excellent considering the price. Remember, we're talking about a laptop with a second-gen Intel Core i3 processor that starts at just $579. Many consumer laptops at this same price have cheap plastic bodies with terrible glossy displays. This laptop is an entirely different and more refined beast.

The 4430s is a solid, affordable business laptop that looks good in the meeting room and will get the job done. The absence of a high-speed local bus, however, is a definite drawback.
