Choosing a budget notebook usually requires a sacrifice of some sort, be it a stripped-down feature set or subpar components. With the G60 (441us) ($599.98 list), HP delivers a compromise that you can live with. This mainstream notebook offers a nice 15.6-inch display, draft-n wireless networking, a generous amount of storage, and an HDMI port. The HP G60 (441us) is an affordable mainstream notebook featuring a bright 15.6-inch screen and a decent feature set. It's not a great performer, but the price is right.

When we reviewed the HP G60-533cl we said that it wasn't a bad deal but there were competing systems that offered more bang for the buck. This time around, we're mostly disappointed. At a time when many affordably priced 15-inch notebooks are equipped with Core 2 Duo, and in some cases, Core i5 processors, the HP G60-630us ($649.98 list, available at Staples) offers up an older Pentium CPU, which predictably puts it squarely behind the performance 8-ball, and its feature set is underwhelming. The HP G60-630us has a bright, colorful display and a winning keyboard, but we expect better performance and better components for the money.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.
In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Onboard (shared Memory) GPU built in the GM45, GE45 and GS45 chipset (Montevina). Because of two more shaders and a higher core clock, much faster than the old GMA X3100. Still not advisable for gamers (DirectX 10 games not playable or only with very low settings). The integrated video processor is able to help decode HD videos (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) , e.g., for a fluent Blu-Ray playback with slow CPUs.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500M: The graphics core of the Intel GL40 and GS40 chipset features a slower clocked GMA 4500MHD (400 versus 533 MHz). Because of the slower core speed, full Blu-Ray Logo support is not given and the gaming performance is a bit worse.

Intel Pentium Dual Core: The return of the name Pentium, though it is a Yonah core. In fact, it is a double Core processor with a very good relation of performance to current consumption.
T4200:
