Unveiled at CES 2021, the latest Envy 14 incorporates almost everything great about last year's 15.6-inch Envy 15 but in a more portable 14-inch form factor. It's one of HP's fastest laptops in this screen size to make it a solid option for those who want to maximize performance without settling for larger alternatives.
80% HP Envy 14 review: Checks all the boxes for a premium tag
Source: India Today English
There is no doubt that the Envy 14 has been made to stand out, with ample features that speak volumes of its premium-ness. It has a strong focus on core points like display, performance, battery life and portability. All this is further complemented by the premium speakers, backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner, 720p webcam with camera shutter and more. With that being noted, the price on the Envy 14 is not an easy to ignore figure, especially considering that it can easily fetch you a laptop with a Core i7 processor. As a result, the Envy 14 becomes a use-case choice for creators who want a device more focused on graphics output than overall performance. In either case, the Envy 14 is sure to exceed your expectations when it is put to use. If you decide to go for it, know that you are in for a smooth, lag-free and powerful experience that few other laptops can promise to provide.

HP Envy 14 (2021) review: This budget content-creation laptop does it all
Source: Good Gear Guide English
Don't let the Envy 14's performance compared to gaming laptops dissuade you from this laptop. It's not a gaming laptop. It's something in between that and the high-end mainstream laptops we also compared, which fell behind the Envy 14 in most respects. In addition to solid performance, the Envy 14 offers Thunderbolt 4, a solid typing experience, a conscientious camera shutter, and absolutely fantastic battery life. It offers more bang for the buck than HP’s Spectre x360 14, itself an Editor’s Choice-winning 14-inch Tiger Lake laptop that lacks the discrete GPU. We don’t think much of the gimmicky Enhanced Lighting app, but we can see this laptop easily being used for content creation and some streaming.

80% HP Envy 14 (2021) review
Source: Laptop Mag English
If I was currently shopping for a laptop, the HP Envy 14 (2021) would be on my mind. Between its powerful performance, sleek chassis, pretty 16:10 display and decently long battery life, it’s tough to say no to this machine. But as someone who knows a little too much about laptops, I’m picky. The $1,249 price tag is too expensive for those components, especially when the SSD is lagging behind the average and the speakers aren’t the best.

HP's New Envy 14 Is Perfect For Creators On The Go

Overall, this is a laptop we're very excited to try for ourselves. HP's move away from 16:9 screens is a great one, and the combination of speed, power, efficiency, and price makes this one of the better laptops coming out in the first half of 2021.

2021 HP Envy 14 – mid-tier ultrabook with 16:10 screen and GTX 1650Ti graphics
Source: Ultrabook Review English
I’d reckon some of you might argue this is not even worth considering since it’s Intel-based and not AMD, but come on. The Tiger Lake i5 is a solid everyday performer and a good match for the GTX 1650Ti dGPU for light gaming. Sure, it’s not meant to run Blender or Premiere or other heavy multithreaded loads, and if that’s what you’re interested in, then this laptop is not for you. Nonetheless, I’m pretty sure you’ll struggle to find a similar package at under $1000.

80% HP Envy 14 (2021) review: A solid performer
Source: The Indian Express English
The HP Envy 14 is a purposefully designed laptop that caters to someone who’s into graphic design, editing photos and videos. I am not the target user of the Envy 14, because I only need a low-end machine that can run a web browser and Google Docs. HP gets a lot of things right with the Envy 14 to make a “pro” notebook more accessible. The fact that HP managed to pack a lot of premium features in a more compact 14-inch chassis is impressive. However, it is still an entry-level “pro” notebook and the competition in this space is getting stiff.

80% HP Envy 14

Envy is HP's upper-middle-class laptop brand, filling a niche between bread-and-butter Pavilion PCs and premium Spectre systems. The Envy 14 (starts at $1,069.99; $1,259.99 as tested) is an attractive aluminum wedge that scores high for features, ports, performance, and battery life, but falls short of Editors' Choice award honors for two reasons. At 3.3 pounds, it's a few ounces over our definition of an ultraportable, and it's pricey, giving you an Intel Core i5 processor and a 256GB solid-state drive when the same money will buy a Core i7 and 512GB elsewhere.

But here's what you do get from the Envy 14: an all-around great PC. It's got value, it's got power, it's got an excellent display, and the keyboard is great. It's not the flashiest PC in the world, but if you want that, I'd definitely recommend having a look at the HP Spectre x360, which is the sexiest PC on the planet.

HP Envy 14 review: An everyday laptop for everyone
Source: Pocket Lint English
The one sense we're left with after using the HP Envy 14 is that it's just effortless. It lets you do what you need to do without getting in the way. It's fast enough, the battery life is good, plus the keyboard is nice to type on. It's also attractive, slim and portable. There's little not to love. Sure, it could do with maybe one or two more ports, and could definitely do with a better quality webcam, but those are minor faults in a device which is excellent for the most part. What's more, it's set at a sensible price. It's not cheap, but it's not pushing into numbers that would make your eyes water.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.

In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Max-Q: Mid range dedicated graphics card for laptops that uses a Turing TU117 chip without raytracing and Tensor cores. Runs at reduced clock speeds compared to a laptop GTX 1650 Ti to achieve a much lower power consumption (35 versus 50 - 80 Watt).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.

Intel Tiger Lake:

i5-1135G7: A quad-core, mid-range processor of Tiger Lake product family designed for use in ultra-light laptops. The i5 is manufactured on Intel's second-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin and features an 80 EU Iris Xe G7 iGPU. Core i5-1135G7 has a base clock speed of 2.4 GHz as long as it is allowed to consume 28 watts.

i7-1165G7: An upper mid-range, quad-core processor of Tiger Lake product family. The i7 is designed for use in ultra-light (yet actively cooled) laptops; it is manufactured on Intel's third-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin. The CPU cores run at 2.8 GHz (base clock speed @ 28 W TDP) to 4.7 GHz (single-core Boost frequency). This i7 features the 96 EU Intel Iris Xe G7 iGPU; it was the second-fastest CPU of TGL-UP3 line-up when Intel initially launched the series in 2020.

14.00:

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.

In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
