ATI graphics give this laptop a boost, but it comes with extremely limited features. HP's Compaq range is aimed at corporate workers and combines sturdy build quality with strong usability. While the 6735s provides powerful graphics performance, it unfortunately falls short of its rivals in many other areas. Ultimately, this is what flaws the 6735s. While it is well made with a vibrant screen, great graphics and strong usability, unless you really need the strong 3D power, you will get more for your money by choosing one of the other laptops here.

Business and consumer laptops tend to be built to a different set of criteria. Stolid dependability is usually the order of the day with business machines. HP is one of the main players in this market, and the Compaq 6735s, available for around £540, is one of its more popular models. Well-made and with a no-nonsense design, the HP Compaq 6735s will no doubt appeal to those seeking a low-cost, dependable laptop, but there's little to get excited about and the specification is rather lacking, given the price

HP Compaq 6735s isn’t a notebook that will blow you away but then again it has very affordable price. Few interesting details will make this model stand out from crowd. This is very good “working horse” type of notebook and lot of business users will appreciate all supported security features.

It might not be the cheapest budget laptop on the block, but the great screen, decent components and comfortable keyboard make it a suitable replacement for your ugly office desktop. Just make sure that you whack another gig of memory inside to ensure your sanity remains intact.

A good, cheap alternative, or maybe just cheap? With their current netbook boom, Eee PC and co have proved many critics wrong. Many people want to use cheap, portable netbooks, with minimal hardware, as a mobile office. Due to this high demand, the netbooks are a growing trend. The HP 6735s belongs to this "trend", as it is cheap, portable, and it offers an interesting mix of connections.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.
In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
ATI Radeon HD 3200: Onboard (shared Memory) graphics chip (on RS780M chipset) based on the HD 2400 graphics core. It also features the UVD video engine to decode HD videos. Beware: Under Windows XP the HD 3200 may have no 2D accelleration because of a driver problem.

AMD Athlon X2:
QL-60:
Similar to the Turion X2 CPU, but with reduced power saving functions (no deep sleep, only 2 instead of 3 P-states).
AMD Turion X2: The Turion X2 (without 64) is based on the Turion X2 Ultra, but has only 1024 MB L2 Cache and is therefore slower (performance compareable to the old Turion 64 X2). Because of new parts from the K10 architecture, the CPU should be more energy efficient.
RM-72:
Griffin based entry-level dual core processor. The cores are still based on the old K8 architecture (memory controller is newer).

2.5 kg:
2.72 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
69.78%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
