According to a report, Google has up to four Pixel smartphones in development. One is the rumoured Pixel 5a 5G, two are from the Pixel 6 series and the fourth is reputedly Google's first foldable smartphone.

Google has delivered the first Android 12 beta, and it reveals more than just the changes that the company has made to its OS. According to 9to5Google, the beta contains references to four unreleased Pixel smartphones, including their model numbers.

Apparently, Google has assigned the following codenames and model numbers:

  • Barbet (G4S1M)
  • Oriole (GR1YH)
  • Raven (GF5KQ)
  • Passport (GPQ72)

9to5Google asserts that Barbet is the Pixel 5a 5G, a device that is seemingly a rebadged Pixel 4a 5G. Additionally, it believes that Oriole and Raven belong to the Pixel 6 series, which is considered to include the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

Moreover, the website claims that Passport is a foldable smartphone. It has provided no evidence for this claim, although there have been rumours that Google is working on a foldable smartphone.

The presence of codenames and model numbers in Android code does not necessarily indicate that a device will make it to market. However, we would not be surprised if Google eventually releases a foldable smartphone, especially considering its close cooperation with Samsung.
