Roland Quandt and WinFuture have shared more details about the Garmin Venu Sq 2 series, just over a week after Fitness Tracker Test discovered retailer listings for the Venu Sq 2 and Venu Sq 2 Music. As the new leaked marketing images show, the Venu Sq 2 series builds on the squircle design of the original Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music, albeit with a few design changes. Purportedly, Garmin has made a few internal tweaks, too.
On the one hand, Garmin has removed its branding from the front of the Venu Sq 2 series. Still, it seems that the Venu Sq 2 and Venu Sq 2 Music have relatively thick display bezels, although they may be thinner than their predecessors. Purportedly, the Venu Sq 2 and Venu Sq 2 Music have 1.41-inch AMOLED displays, 17% larger than those found in the original Venu Sq series. Additionally, all Venu Sq 2 series displays operate at 360 x 360 pixels and support always-on display (AOD) functionality.

On the other hand, Garmin plans to switch up the colourways in which it offers Venu Sq smartwatches, with a lighter green option and another gold colour combination. Separately, battery life expands from six days with the Venu Sq series to eleven days with the Venu Sq 2 series. Also, the Venu Sq 2 series offers 5 ATM water resistance, a GPS module and an NFC chip for use with Garmin Pay. WinFuture adds that the Venu Sq 2 series has more storage than its predecessor too; exact numbers are unknown at this stage.
The Garmin Venu Sq 2 is expected to launch for €269, €70 more than the Venu Sq. By contrast, the Venu Sq 2 Music should come in at €299, a €50 surcharge over the Venu Sq Music. Unfortunately, a precise release date has not leaked yet.
