GPU deal: Gigabyte's GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC drops to new lowest price on Amazon

Prices on the previously white-hot graphics cards market are evidently in the process of dropping and slowly getting back to normal. Just yesterday, we noted that EVGA's brand-new RTX 3090 Ti can easily be found in stock and ordered at MSRP directly from the manufacturer, and today another popular retailer has the very capable but slightly more affordable Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU in stock at a comparatively reasonable price.

According to a deal post on Slickdeals, Amazon currently has the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC graphics card with 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM, a 384-bit memory interface and a three-fan cooling system in stock for a rather fair sales price of US$1,049. In the past, a sheer infinite number of cryptominers and greedy scalpers have inflated the price of comparable RTX 3080 gaming GPUs to more than US$2,000 at times.

Admittedly, the RTX 3080's current price on Amazon still sits above its regular MSRP of around US$699, which means that patient and frugal gamers who are willing to wait even longer for their GPU upgrade can certainly bet on further price drops on the graphics card market. For everyone else, Amazon's current deal is a good opportunity to pick up a future-proof GPU at a price which seemed almost unthinkable in the past couple of years.
