Anker Innovations has announced the ZOLO Model Zero, a new home speaker with a unique design, and a release date for the upcoming ZOLO Liberty+ Earbuds.

ZOLO Model Zero
(new for CES 2018)

The Model Zero is a Google-Assistant-based smart speaker with a funky design and modern aesthetics. Anker claims that the radial shape and Dolby Audio technology help to deliver improved audio and expanded soundstage. Google Assistant integration allows instant access to services such as Google Play, or information on news, traffic, weather, and so forth.

The ZOLO Model Zero is estimated to be available from autumn/fall 2018.

ZOLO Liberty+ Earphones
(previously announced via Kickstarter)

The Liberty+ Earphones are a pair of truly wireless earbuds (like the Apple Earpods or Google Pixel Buds) which received US$2.8 million in funding via Kickstarter. Features include:

  • Bluetooth 5 and LDS Antennae.
  • External audio passthrough with a button push to hear the world around you without removing the earbuds.
  • Graphene audio drivers.
  • 3.5-hour battery life with an additional 48 hours of charge via the battery case.
  • Earbuds pair automatically with each other and any pre-paired device once they are removed from the charge case.

The ZOLO Liberty+ Earphones launch on the 25th of January 2018 with an MSRP of US$149.

I grew up in a family surrounded by technology, starting with my father loading up games for me on a Commodore 64, and later on a 486. In the late 90's and early 00's I started learning how to tinker with Windows, while also playing around with Linux distributions, both of which gave me an interest for learning how to make software do what you want it to do, and modifying settings that aren't normally user accessible. After this I started building my own computers, and tearing laptops apart, which gave me an insight into hardware and how it works in a complete system. Now keeping up with the latest in hardware and software news is a passion of mine.
