Fenix E08R UE: New EDC flashlight comes with 21 modes and USB-C

Fenix has added a new slim EDC flashlight to its lineup, namely the E08R UE. Designed for everyday use, the flashlight joins the E04R clip flashlight and the E06R, which is also a slim model.
However, the new model is a bit more playful and, according to the US store, is significantly more expensive than the other two models at $110 before tax. The E06R and E08R UE are very similar. Their range and battery capacity are identical. The battery is also built in and charges via USB-C. However, the E08R UE weighs around 4.4 ounces, making it 0.7 ounces heavier.
The range of 525 feet, runtimes, and output of 1,600 lumens are also identical. Instead of the UV light, however, Fenix uses a red light on the new model, while the laser changes from red to green. As a regular flashlight, it still has a floodlight mode and a spotlight mode using two optics, which can be combined into a turbo mode when needed to reach 1,600 lumens.
As usual, the battery runtimes are very complex, so we refer to the graphics provided by Fenix at the end of the article. The runtimes roughly match the E06R. The new flashlight's red light can be used for between 4.5 and 40 hours. At the time, Fenix did not provide any runtime figures for the E06R's UV light.
Aside from the main light sources, the E08R UE also has an illuminated switch and illuminated round elements on the flashlight. These are much more noticeable than on the E06R and are intended to improve visibility while also enabling more playful effects.
In the US, the flashlight will ship starting May 5, 2026. Other distributors usually follow shortly afterward.
