Intel's newest overclockable desktop processor becomes available for Eurocom's 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch mobile workstations.

Last week, we have reported that Eurocom now offers a 17.3-inch mobile workstation with Intel's desktop-class processors, the P7 Pro. Several Haswell-based Core i5, Core i7 and even Xeon chips are available as configuration options. Today, this list has been expanded with Intel's newest and long anticipated Core i7-5775C based on the 14 nm Broadwell architecture. The same applies to Eurocom's 15.6-inch P5 Pro, which offers the same configuration options as the P7 Pro plus pre-wired WWAN antennas and the possibility to select a 4K display.

Intel Core i7-5775C is a quad-core processor with Hyper-Threading clocked at 3.3 GHz and capable of Turbo Boost up to 3.7 GHz. It includes 6 MB of L3 cache and is compatible with DDR3L memory clocked at up to 1600 MHz. A GT3e graphics iGPU (Intel Iris Pro 6200) with 48 EU (Execution Units) and 64 MB of fast eDRAM memory is on the die as well. The CPU has an unlocked multiplier (indicated by the "C" suffix in the model name, which is change from the previously used "K") and Eurocom encourages the buyers to overclock their laptops by providing an unlocked BIOS.

Since Broadwell desktop processors are compatible with the same Intel's LGA 1150 socket and Z97 chipset as Haswell CPUs, the upgrade should be quite easy for Eurocom and laptops configured with this new CPU will most likely ship immediately. Current P5 Pro/P7 Pro owners will be able to upgrade the processor since it's socketed and not soldered.
