The 128 GB Google Pixel 8 Pro has dropped to $599 on Amazon-owned Woot. This is a hefty $400 discount from the regular price tag, making it a good early Black Friday deal for those who are okay with owning a last-gen camera flagship.

Google's Pixel 9 series brings many upgrades over the last-gen lineup, including a better SoC. However, for those who are okay with not having the latest and the greatest, the phones from the 2023 lineup are still worth considering, especially when they are on sale.

Speaking of which, ahead of Black Friday, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is enjoying a hefty discount on Amazon-owned Woot. The last-gen camera flagship is down to $599, a generous $400 discount from what it usually goes for. However, note that this deal will only remain active until December 1, 2024.

As for the phone itself, the Pixel 8 Pro got a respectable 89% score in our review, and as we noted, it has a great camera setup. Interestingly, Google has used the same rear setup for the successor, which means you won't miss out on the camera hardware.

It's also worth noting that the Pixel 8 Pro currently holds the 12th position in DxOMark's smartphone camera ranking, right behind the non-Pro Pixel 9. Besides the camera, we praised the last-gen Google flagship for its bright LTPO display, which also features the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass for better durability.

On that note, the smartphone features an IP68 dust and water-resistance rating, which is in line with the other flagships. While all that sounds great, the Tensor G3 didn't fare well when compared with the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagships, and it's way behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite when it comes to raw performance.

However, we found it to be more than good enough for day-to-day tasks. The SoC only struggles with heavy workloads. Other highlights of the Google Pixel 8 Pro include software updates until 2030, a decent stereo speaker setup, many AI-powered features, and good battery life (Anker 737 power bank curr. $106.48 on Amazon).
