Doro 8035
The versatile Doro 8035 offers a great experience for both Android users and first-time smartphone owners. Doro had set itself the goal of lowering the threshold for seniors to switch to smartphones. Unlike other smartphones, it allows a user to choose between a traditional Android interface and Doro's highly intuitive, action-based interface that makes navigating brilliantly simple. It also keeps track of the actions users use most often. The senior cell phone specialist Doro has made smartphones user-friendly again. The Doro 9035 comes in the standard 5-inch format. In addition, a dock is provided, which is suitable for installation on the bedside table. By using this dock, the Doro 8035 is charged within a few hours. Furthermore, it shows the time and background images from the user’s gallery. Thus, the Doro 8035 also takes over the function of a small, digital picture frame. In dock mode, a user can also control music playback, set the alarm or make calls. However, the music can only be played back by the internal or microSD memory and not by streaming services or Internet radio stations. Even better, the Doro 8035 comes with Google Assistant, a powerful personal assistant that responds to the user’s voice. There is also a built-in assistance button enabling direct contact with providers of emergency or convenience services in user’s area. Doro's smartphones are famous for their emergency button. This can be configured in many ways. If a user presses it for the first time, the menu will guide them through the configuration. The button can either make a loud sound, send an SMS to contacts with a cry for help and user’s coordinates or start Doro Connect & Care, which is an app to help the user take care of their elderly loved ones by creating a network of careers around them. The main camera delivers 5 Megapixel, front camera features a resolution of 2 Megapixel. The 5-inch display has a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, so content will not be displayed outstandingly sharp. The customer's group priority is likely to be primarily on high contrasts so that icons and text are clearly visible. Also, the on-screen keyboard has been optimized and has extra-large buttons. The home screen has two navigation modes. In simple mode, the main view presents three basic features: call, view, and send. It also offers verbal-style submenus. These are coded in the same color as the button. As for battery life, the Doro 8035 is equipped with a 2500 mAh battery. According to the manufacturer, it can achieve a 3G talk time of 10.5 hours and a 3G Standby time of 550 hours. However, if the user installs more apps with background activity, battery life will quickly decrease. The Doro 8035 reminds people of the older smartphone days. The physical buttons and relatively large bezels for today’s standards make it more suitable for light users such as older people. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

This is the odd thing. I liked the Doro 8035 for what it was, and not what it wasn’t. It won’t win any speed awards, The battery probably wouldn’t last long if I were trying to use it for YouTubes, Netflixing, Instagrams, Twitter, and all the usual multimedias that most people use as part of the modern-day experience of using a smartphone. But the Doro 8035 wasn’t created for that use-case. It was for the people who end up having conversations like this:

When picking the best phone, not everyone wants top-end specs or the biggest display – older folk just want something that's easy to use and straightforward, which is what Doro specialises in. Its phones are simple, affordable, and made with the elderly in mind. The Doro 8035 is the second-most advanced (and expensive) phone Doro makes, after the Doro 8040 (which has a slightly bigger battery and a slightly better camera). If you've got older friends or relatives in the market for a new phone, then this is worth checking out.

So this phone is a nice phone that gives its elder readers a bright easy to read the screen with plenty of volume and great features and with a normal smartphone look this is a great buy for the over 65’s.

Doro have been selling their phones in the UK for many years, not only do they do home phones but they also are the premier manufacturer for those with disabilities be that sight or hearing, now they have moved into SmartPhones that look normal but can still offer help but you no longer have a phone that looks like it’s for someone who has a disability.

The Doro 8020X is the smartphone that steps out of the senior bracket but this time create a phone for the lone worker market so as you can guess some of the features you come to expect on a senior phone have stayed but without the senior style and look.

Ultimately, if you’ve got an older relative looking to take the plunge into smartphones, the 8080 is a good bet. It’s a clear stylistic and performance upgrade on its predecessor the 8040, and price concerns are largely offset by its support for family members, emergency capabilities, and glamorous yet sturdy design.

The approach that the 8080 employs to introduce a new user to mobile technology could well be a major aid in enabling a technophobe to move into the 21st Century. Having a list price of £320 but available on Amazon for £259.64 the Doro 8080, which is available in either black or white, is the ideal upgrade for an elderly person who is currently using a basic mobile phone and wants to have access to the features and versatility of a smartphone.

In all, though, the Doro 8050’s simplified, action-based user interface and emergency response app are well worth the price of admission alone. It’s a bit on the pricey side, and its hardware offering is a tad lacking compared to its feature-rich rivals, but the Doro 8050 is an ideal choice for the Android uninitiated or technology averse.

Most people with limited sight or poor hearing will have heard of Doro and over the years I have reviewed a number of their handsets. Outwardly it looks like any recent SmartPhone so there is no embarrassment about using it. Right from the off things on the Home screen are just that more widely spaced and more easily focused upon.

5.00:
It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.

72.61%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
