Dirt 3 Benchmarks
How we test
Thankfully, Dirt 3 has an integrated benchmark which can be found at the bottom of the graphics settings screen. The integrated benchmark includes a short intro sequence and a race (in snow) between the computer AI versus multiple opponents. The race lasts one minute and it never runs the same way twice, so the average frames per second vary from benchmark to benchmark.
Analysis of the Benchmarks
For the best visuals, the user will need a high-end graphics card. Fluid gameplay with ultra high details, 4x AA (Anti-Aliasing) and the Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels is only possible with a Radeon HD 6990M or a GeForce GTX 580M.
The user can run the game at high details (very little difference), 2x AA and a resolution of 1366x768 pixels with a middle-class GPU like the Radeon HD 5650 or GeForce GT 540M.
The game can be run with minimum details and a low resolution of 1024x768 pixels on a low-end graphic card as well.
