Back in 2020, the Dell S2721HGF was unveiled as the company's mid-range 1080p gaming monitor. It came with a handful of features, such as a curved screen (1500R), Nvidia G-Sync/AMD FreeSync Premium support and a 144 Hz refresh rate. At that time, it cost $250. It has now received a substantial discount on Best Buy.
You can buy the Dell S2721HGF for just $150. That is $100 cheaper than the original asking price. Honey's price tracker confirms it is the cheapest the Dell S2721HGF has ever been since launch. If you're alright with an open-box/refurbished product, you can save a few more dollars and get it for $135.
Dell's spec sheet says the S2721HGF has a peak brightness of 350 nits. However, RTing's in-depth review says it actually maxes out at 322 nits. That's fine for a monitor at this price point. Other specs include a grey-to-grey response time of 4 ms and a VA panel. For I/O, you get two HDMI 1.4 ports and one DP 1.2 port.
You can pair the Dell S2721HGF with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060, a B550 motherboard and 32 GB DDR4 RAM for a decent sub-$1,000 gaming PC.
