Deal | SpaceX crops Starlink Mini dish price to record low with an activation promo

SpaceX has discounted the portable Starlink Mini dish yet again to its lowest ever price for a direct purchase. The Mini dish now costs just $199, which is 20% lower than its previous best price.
Ahead of its IPO, SpaceX wants those who purchase the Starlink Mini dish at its lowest ever price of $199 to actually pay for at least a month of Roaming plan usage. After all, Elon Musk's rocket and satellite company still gets the vast majority of its revenue from Starlink subscriptions.
This is why it has issued the best-ever Starlink Mini dish deal in the form of an activation bonus. Those who order the Mini dish directly from Starlink will be able to keep it for $199 as their own provided that they activate at least a month of basic service with 100 GB of data.
Given that the monthly fee of Starlink's base Roaming plan is $50, SpaceX basically recoups the activation fee discount in the first month. Those new Starlink customers who need to get the portable dish to travel and then keep it, however, will profit from the discount offer.
They will get a $50 credit to their account with both the 100 GB and the Unlimited roaming plans of Starlink and can put the dish in a Standby Mode from the next billing cycle. Switching to standby will cost them just $5/month, and the Mini dish will still be usable for basic email or chat, as the mode comes with unlimited data at a 500 Kbps speed. When the subscriber needs satellite Internet on the go again, they can activate a higher speed at any given time before they travel.
