The Cuktech 6 Braided Digital Display Power Cable (Magnetic OLED Version) is about to launch in China. This is a USB-C to USB-C cable designed for fast-charging devices like a smartphone, a laptop or a tablet.
The braided USB-C cable supports up to 240W charging with up to 48V/5A power. Cuktech notes that it is compatible with Xiaomi 120W HyperCharge with a 6A current and also supports Apple CarPlay. It is a 1.5 m (~5 ft) cable, with Cuktech claiming it has the same 48-strand braiding as seen on equivalent Apple cables. Plus, its magnetic properties make it easy to tidy and avoid tangles.
At one end, the Cuktech cable's connector casing has an integrated ultra-low power consumption OLED screen; it is said to consume as little as 0.03W power. The display can show charging information like the current, voltage and power output, with the three measurements viewable simultaneously. Cuktech suggests that the screen is not too bright, making it suitable for use at night.
The Cuktech 6 Braided Digital Display Power Cable will launch in China on June 10th, with an RRP of CNY 80 (~$11). Whether or when the product could reach the US, where Cuktech already sells accessories like a 45W 20,000mAh Power Bank (curr. $29.99 at Amazon), remains to be seen.
