EA will officially release the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection on June 5 via Origin and Steam. The collection features versions of the original Command & Conquer and Red Alert titles (and some expansions) upscaled to 4K. Additionally, the games' UI, multiplayer system, and soundtracks have been overhauled for a modern experience.
Fans of the Command & Conquer series haven’t had too much to cheer about over the past few years, but this summer will turn the tide of battle. The Command & Conquer Remastered Collection will arrive on Steam and Origin on June 5, 2020.
The collection includes full 4K remasters of the original Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn), Command & Conquer: Red Alert, and three expansion packs: Covert Ops (based on Tiberian Dawn), as well as Counterstrike and The Aftermath (based on Red Alert).
In addition to the graphical overhaul, the collection rebuilds the multiplayer system (opting for an Elo-based matchmaking system), the games’ UIs, and the legendary soundtracks. Many veterans that worked on the original titles have poured into the Remastered Collection, including Frank Klepacki, the composer of both titles.
The Remastered Collection will be released through both Steam and Origin as a digital download and will include a bevy of bonus features, including behind-the-scenes footage of the FMVs used as mission briefings. EA is also working with Limited Run Games to release physical versions of the games with some extra goodies like posters and art books.
