A few weeks ago, Colorful released its first-ever laptop, the questionably named Rimbook L1. It was positioned as a budget laptop and spec'd as such. Now, a slightly more powerful variant, aptly called the Rimbook S1, has been announced.
The main difference between the Colorful Rimbook S1 and L1 lies in their processors, with the former using an Intel Core i5-13420H Raptor Lake CPU, whereas the latter features a Core i5-12450H. Otherwise, both laptops are mostly identical, with shared features such as 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD.
Another notable upgrade includes a 14-inch 16:10 FHD (1,920 x 1,200) IPS LCD panel. It also features a slightly larger 60 Wh battery that charges at 65 Watts. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, 2.5 Gb/s Ethernet, three USB-A ports (2x USB 2.0 + 1x USB 3.2), a USB 3.2 Type-C port, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There's also a dedicated toggle to switch off the camera/webcam.
The Colorful Rimbook S1 costs $439 and will be available for purchase shortly. It is slightly pricier than the Rimbook L1 that costs $399, but the 16:10 screen, added battery capacity, and somewhat faster processor make it worth the extra cost.
