Citigroup has begun rolling out new AI tools to employees in eight countries. Around 140,000 employees will be given access to the tools, and the company says it will monitor how they use them to improve and develop new ones.

Citigroup, the third-largest investment and financial services company in the US, has announced that it will begin rolling out AI tools to 140,000 employees in eight countries.

According to an internal memo seen by Reuters, Tim Ryan, head of technology and business enablement, outlined the two tools - Citi Assist and Citi Stylus.

Citi Assist will make it easier for employees to search for internal bank policies and procedures. According to Ryan, it will function like "a super-smart co-worker at your fingertips to help navigate commonly used policies and procedures across HR, risk, compliance and finance."

The second tool, Citi Stylus, can summarize, compare, or search for multiple documents. Both tools will be available to 140,000 employees in the US, Canada, Hungary, India, Ireland, Poland, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

In an interview with Reuters, Ryan said that the company will monitor and review how the employees use the tools to create new features for them. The workers are also encouraged to share their proposals. Ryan believes the tools "will help to simplify work and increase productivity."
