CES 2011: Asus Eee Slate EP121 debuts at CES 2011
This year’s CES has been pretty much of a ball for ASUS, the multinational computer product manufacturer centered in Taiwan. The event saw ASUS unfolding a treat of new tablets at CES 2011, much of the limelight was however hogged by the Eee Slate EP121, which is believed to be the world's most powerful tablet to date.
The Asus Eee Slate EP121 has been specially designed keeping in mind the requirements of users who require a highly portable handheld device that can also run standard office software while multitasking with other applications.
Specifications
The Eee Slate EP121 holds a 12.1-inch LED-backlit display with a 1280 x 800 resolution and a wide 178° viewing angle. This allows the slate to effectively and effortlessly support both productivity applications and multimedia entertainment. Processing is powered by an impressive Intel Core i5 dual-core processor. In addition there is provision for 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage, which is further expandable via SDXC, and up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM. The OS is provided by Windows 7 Home Premium; thereby further adding functionality to the device by ensuring compatibility with widely used applications controlled by flexible input options.
Connectivity is provided owing to 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3, along with two USB 2.0 ports that provide full support for a wide range of standard PC peripherals. Also the device offers a mini-HDMI port that proves vital for connecting to external displays.
The Asus Eee Slate EP121 also comes bundled along with a 2-megapixel camera.
