The BlackBerry Passport has been in the rumor mill for a while and this is not the first time we see it online, but the new video produced by U.K. retailer Carphone Warehouse is surely the best one showing the handset that has hit the Web so far. The hands-on video available at the end of this article reveals a few key features and the interesting layout of the upcoming BlackBerry 10.1 OS-powered smartphone.
Unlike any of its possible competitors, the BlackBerry Passport has a square screen with a diagonal size of 4.5 inches. These are its alleged features:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
- Memory/Storage: 3 GB RAM; 32 GB internal storage and microSD support up to 64 GB
- Display: 4.5-inch capacitive multitouch with 1440 x 1440 pixels and 453 ppi
- Cameras: front webcam (unknown resolution), 10 MP back
- Connectivity: 4G LTE, dual band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n with hotspot, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 LE with A2DP, micro USB 2.0, NFC, GPS with A-GPS
- Operating system: BlackBerry 10.1
- Battery: embedded lithium-ion 3,450 mAh
The BlackBerry Passport will also feature a voice-enabled personal assistant like Siri or Cortana, as well as a touch-sensitive QWERTY keyboard which can also be used as a large touchpad.
