These two new handsets will hit the market in May and June, both with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor and running Android 7.1.1 out of the box. They are also BQ's first smartphones to feature USB Type-C and Quick Charge 3.0.

Spanish brand BQ is back with two premium mid-range handsets that promise "to completely revolutionise the concept of photography in this price range." Dubbed Aquaris X and Aquaris X Pro, these smartphones use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor and are the brand's first handsets to offer Quick Charge 3.0.

While using the same processor and the same 5.2-inch full HD IPS LTPS display, the memory and storage space offered are different. BQ Aquaris X comes with 3 GB/32 GB, while the Pro version has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage. Both feature the same 8 MP front camera, but the Pro has a dual camera setup on its back (12 MP sensors), while the Aquaris X has a single 16 MP image shooter on its back.

The remaining specs and features are not surprising, given the prices - WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, 4G LTE, fingerprint reader, NFC, and HiFi audio. The Aquaris X Pro comes in Glaze White and Midnight Black, while its sibling's two color options are Pearl Rose and Mineral Black. Both are expected to launch with Android 7.1.1 on board.

Aquaris X is expected to hit the market in May for €289.9 EUR (~$311 USD), while the Aquaris X Pro should arrive one month later with two storage options, as mentioned earlier. The prices would be €369.9 EUR (~$397 USD) and €409.9 EUR (~$440 USD).
