These two handsets, next to the Zenfone 2 Selfie, will launch in India on August 6.

Asus has recently added quite a few new handsets to its popular Zenfone 2 family, but it seems this product launch spree is not over yet. Most Zenfone 2 devices sell across the entire globe, but India will get a few special models next month, namely the Zenfone 2 Deluxe and Zenfone 2 Laser.

The Zenfone 2 Deluxe is, basically, a Zenfone 2 with a different back cover. This handset will have up to 4 GB RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage, next to all the features of the Zenfone 2. Next to the Deluxe and Laser, India will also get the 13 MP front camera-handset Zenfone Selfie but sold as Zenfone 2 Selfie.

At last, we have the Zenfone 2 Laser which packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, 5 MP front and 13 MP back cameras, as well as a 2400 mAh power pack.

While these handsets will launch in India on August 6 in New Delhi, it seems the Laser is not an exclusive device on that market, since its spec sheet has been spotted on Asus' Japanese website already. We will get back to these handsets next week when pricing will be unveiled, so stay tuned.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
