Archos is yet to officially release the Android 3.1 based Gen9 tablet, but the French tablet giant has just released a Froyo update atleast. The software update, called OS version 2.3.81 was given to the Archos 28, 32, 43, 70, and 101 tablets. The new firmware will have the somewhat updated flash player version 10.1.105.7, Subtitle wizard to associate a subtitle to a video, some audio, video and Wi-Fi bug fixes, enhanced audio player and media library and better Russian translation.
One notable thing is, apparently you will not be able to root your machine once updating to this latest firmware – as reported by ArcTablet. So if you would like your device rooted, go for the unofficial ROMs like CyanogenMod instead.
