Anker launches new Nano Smart Shield Magnetic Power Bank

The Anker Nano Smart Shield Magnetic Power Bank has been launched in China. The portable accessory is one of the first from the brand to offer its new Smart Shield technology. This appears to have been developed in response to recent consumer concerns about power bank safety and a series of recalls.
According to Anker, the Nano Smart Shield Magnetic Power Bank has intelligent safety monitoring, detecting problems linked to temperature “immediately upon activation”. The accessory is also said to have dual-core protection with flame-retardant materials used throughout. Plus, users can view the manufacturing details of the cell with a unique identification number, should they wish.
Anker’s Nano Smart Shield Magnetic Power Bank can be used to charge a smartphone wirelessly, with an up to 7.5W output via the front charging pad. You can charge a device at up to 27W via the USB-C port, which is also used to recharge the power bank’s 10,000 mAh battery. According to the company, this model is equipped with “Apple-certified” ATL cells. Plus, there is an integrated stand, and a built-in LCD can display charging data, including charging time and the remaining battery. The portable power bank measures 107 x 68.9 x 21.9 mm (~inches), weighs 233 g (~oz) and comes in three colors: black, white and blue.
In China, the Anker Nano Smart Shield Magnetic Power Bank retails for CNY 369 (~$54). Whether or when this model could be released in other markets like the US remains to be seen. Here, you can already buy older models like the Anker 633 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) (curr. $39.99 at Amazon).
