Android Wear gets the July security patch
Android Wear might be still far from the popularity of its sibling for smartphones, but it is good to see that Google keeps it up to date in the same manner. The latest update for Android Wear devices brings the firmware of these wearables up to version M1D63G and provides a security boost, without delivering any new features.
According to the popular XDA Forums, there are only two noticeable changes that Android Wear M1D63G carries, namely the security patch dated July 5th, and Google Play Services 9.2.56. The list of compatible devices is quite long, Android Authority mentioning that Android Wear M1D63G has been installed and seems to work properly on the Sony Smartwatch 3, LG G Watch R and LG G Watch Urbane, the second generation Moto 360, with many others expected to join them soon.
Those anxious to check for the update should simply go to Settings > About > System updates, but the OTA update file can be downloaded separately as well.
