Sony has dropped the first trailer for the Anaconda reboot, and it lives up to being as wild and absurd as expected. Starring Paul Rudd and Jack Black, this isn’t a straight horror remake — it’s a meta‑comedy with a giant snake that seems to have a mind of its own.
Cast & Setup
The reboot also features Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, and Daniela Melchior. Rudd and Black play Griff and Doug, childhood best friends who’ve always dreamed of remaking the original 1997 Anaconda. Now in midlife crisis mode, they venture into the Amazon to film their project — only to discover a real giant anaconda turning their movie shoot into a survival nightmare.
What the trailer teases
The trailer delivers both laughs and genuine suspense. Jack Black’s banter (“there’s going to be a big f---in’ snake and it’s gonna rip!”) is paired with tense jungle sequences. The film is self‑aware, showing the crew making a movie about Anaconda, only for reality to spiral out of control.
Release Date
The Anaconda reboot is set to slither into theaters on Christmas Day 2025.
