Alcatel shows off the One Touch Idol S and Idol Mini smartphones

Alcatel quietly added a number of new products to its website recently. The new mobile devices include two new additions to the French company's One Touch smartphone line.

The One Touch Idol S is a new mid-range model. It features a 4.7-inch 720 x 1280 IPS display with Dragotrail Glass, an unspecified dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, a microSD slot (up to 32 GB cards), an 8 MP back-facing camera, a 1.3 MP front-facing camera, 802.11 a/b/g/n wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, and three color options - Slate, Fresh Rose, and Cherry Red.

The Idol Mini on the other hand is a new budget model. It features a 4.3-inch 480 x 854 IPS display, a dual-core 1.3 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory for a single SIM version and 8 GB internal memory for a dual-SIM verion, a microSD slot (up to 32 GB cards), a 5 MP back-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera, 802.11 a/b/g/n wifi, Bluetooth 4.0, and also comes in three colors – Cranberry Pink, Silver, and Slate.

Both phones are relatively thin and lightweight, and will run Android 4.2 with Alcatel's One Touch overlay.

Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
