Ainol Novo 7 Mars and Novo 7 Tornado tablets go on sale
In addition to launching the sub-$200 Novo 7 Aurora II earlier this year, the Chinese company Ainol Electronics is now adding two new slate PCs to its portfolio. Dubbed as the Novo 7 Tornado and Novo 7 Mars, the tablets run on a Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and have starting prices of $108.90 and $119.90, respectively.
According to the manufacturer, both systems come equipped with a single-core AMLogic AML8726-M3 (Cortex A9-based) central processing unit clocked at 1GHz and a Mali-400 video card for accelerating 3D graphics. Furthermore, the Novo 7 Tornado sports a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen of 800-by-480 pixels resolution, whereas the Novo 7 Mars has a 7-inch multitouch-enabled (5 points) panel with a native resolution of 1024-by-600 pixels.
Common features reportedly include 1GB of internal DDR3 RAM, 8GB - 16GB flash storage (the Mars model offers up to 32GB through the integrated microSD reader), Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n adapter, a VGA front-facing web camera for video conferencing and a G-Sensor.
