Acer Iconia Tab A701 tablet specs leak
It was just a few days ago when we revealed supposedly leaked specs of the Tegra 3 Acer Iconia Tab A510, but today sees an even more impressive leak on a higher-end Acer tablet.
A User Profile Agent discovered on Acer’s own website directly refers to the Iconia Tab A700 and mentions that the new tablet is expected to have a full HD 1920x1200 resolution screen upon release. If true, this would definitely be a huge surprise especially since the 16:10 ratio is slowly fading in many monitors 19-inch or larger where the 16:9 resolution (1920x1080 pixels) is becoming more common. The quad-core Tegra 3 is anticipated to power the unit as well.
Just like the previously rumored Iconia Tab A510 and A511, the A700 and A701 could be the WiFi-only and 3G-enabled models, respectively. While no Android version was attached to the User Profile Agent, we’d be surprised if the tablet wasn’t at least upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Unfortunately, the screen size of the tablet is not revealed in the leak, but we expect it to be at least 10-inches. While it wouldn’t exactly be considered a “Retina” display a la the rumored iPad 3, the full HD resolution would still make for one impressive screen. Tegra 3 tablets from Acer are likely to begin launching Q1 2012.
