AMD Ryzen 7 8840U and 16:10 display in a 2.2 lb laptop: HP unveils the EliteBook 635 Aero G11
The HP EliteBook 635 Aero G11 is a 15.1 mm thin, 0.99 kg light notebook that hardly makes any compromises despite its low weight. HP has installed a large multi-touch trackpad and a 13.3-inch display in 16:10 format, which achieves a resolution of 1920 x 1200, a brightness of 400 nits and full coverage of the sRGB color space.
The laptop has two USB-A ports (5 Gbit/s), two USB-C ports (10 Gbit/s) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 are standard features. The 5 MP webcam with privacy cover and infrared camera for facial recognition is accompanied by high-quality quad speakers and microphones with Poly tuning.
The highlight of the hardware is the modern AMD Ryzen processor, as buyers have the choice between a Ryzen 5 8640U and a Ryzen 7 8840U. The latter and stronger model has eight performance cores with clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz as well as an integrated AMD Radeon 780M iGPU, allowing for older or less demanding current games to be run smoothly. HP advertises a particularly long battery life of 1000 charging cycles, but does not provide any information on battery capacity or whether it can be easily replaced.

The HP EliteBook 635 Aero G11 will be launched in Japan on April 26, 2024 for a recommended retail price of 274,780 yen (approx. $1780). HP has not yet confirmed details about international availability.
