4G TouchPad pops up briefly on Amazon

Tablet pre-order page appears on Amazon before being taken down

Earlier last month HP confirmed the existence of a 4G version of their TouchPad tablet, and now we appear to be inching closer to an actual launch.

Thanks to Amazon.com and their pre-order listings, we now know that the 32GB model of the TouchPad 4G should go on sale for the price of $699.99. Unfortunately, there is no word about a possible carrier, and the posting appears to have been removed by the folks over at Amazon (although Google’s Cache did manage to make a copy).

According to HP’s earlier announcement, the 4G TouchPad improves on the original tablet by offering a faster 1.5GHz CPU but features the same 9.7” display, Beats Audio, and webOS 3.0. And while a $700 price tag may seem a tad steep, it may not stick due to HP's recently displayed propensity for offering price cuts.
