2012 MacBook Pros could utilize a new case design

Teaser
New rumors point to 2012 MacBook Pros as a “milestone” release for the Pro family, sporting all-new designs for the first time since 2008.

For those dissatisfied with the same old style in the current line of 2011 MacBook Pros, they may finally get their luck with next year’s models.

MacRumors is citing “reliable confirmation” that the 2012 iteration of MacBook Pros would sport a new, redesigned chassis. If true, the 2012 models would be the first series since 2008 to come with a new cosmetic exterior.

The 2011 MacBook Pro lineup is still selling quite well, however, even though its body has remained essentially unchanged for the past few years. But a new design may be just what Apple needs to spark even greater interests in the Pro family, instead of just incremental hardware updates.

Currently, no further details about the new design are known, but there is speculation that the new design could be taking cues from the MacBook Air. Apple users will have to make do with the aluminum unibody chassis of the 2011 models for now.
