Apple may be working on ultrathin 15-inch MacBook
If the current 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air models are a bit too small for your tastes, Apple may be working on a larger 15-inch variant, at least according to MacRumors.
The source indicates that the ultrathin 15-inch model is already at its final stages of testing, but whether or not the notebook will be part of the MBA lineup orwill actually be a MacBook Pro is still unknown.
The most recent update from tuaw.com, however, claims the 15-inch model will be part of the new MacBook Pro series. The slimness may have been achieved by removing the optical drive, which would force users to resort to external drive solutions. Additionally, the source expects a thin 17-inch Pro model somewhere down the line as well.
While these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, they do line up quite nicely with reports back in late April about 2012 MacBook Pros sporting completely new and redesigned looks at launch. If true, the new Pro lineup would likely be taking some cues and blueprints from the Air series and share similar appearances between them.
