Minisforum launches powerful AMD mini PC with 192GB RAM at eye-watering price

Minisforum introduced the MS-S1 Max-P495 at the recent IFA 2026 event, but back then, the company didn't reveal the exact price this souped-up AMD mini PC would go for. Now, the brand has made the system available for purchase on the official website.

The compact workstation is available in one configuration, which comes with 192GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 2TB SSD. This config is available for $7,399, which makes it very expensive over the non-P495 version of the mini PC with topped-out memory.

Of course, the Max-P495 does bring some advantages over the non-P495 MS-S1 Max. For instance, the max memory support jumps from 128GB to 192GB, and of this RAM, 160GB can be allocated as VRAM, which is also an improvement over the 96GB max VRAM support of the last model.

Another notable aspect of the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 inside the MS-S1 Max-P495 is its support for faster RAM, with a maximum of 8,533MT/s for LPDDR5x. The Radeon 8065S iGPU can also be considered an improvement, as it runs at a higher clock speed than the 8050S in the previous model. All of these can boost AI performance, with Minisforum claiming the mini PC is capable of running DeepSeek V4 Flash with 284 billion parameters.

As for the other specs, it stays the same as the non-P495 MS-S1 Max. That includes two M.2 slots with support for up to an 8TB SSD each, and a PCIe x16 slot with support for PCIe 4.0 x4 bandwidth. The mini PC brings a rich selection of ports, including two USB4 v2 and two regular USB4 ports.

There's no notable difference in the chassis either, and the cooling setup appears to be the same as well. For those who might not see the use of speedier RAM, higher VRAM support, and 192GB of memory, the regular MS-S1 Max might be a better value, as the 128GB RAM config starts at $3,799.
