According to rumors originating from inside the Taiwanese manufacturing industry, Apple will launch the highly anticipated 12-inch MacBook Air at some point during the first quarter of 2015. In simpler terms, the Cupertino-based manufacturer is rumored to launch the new notebook by the end of March 2015.
Sources quoted by Digitimes claim that the Quanta (the largest contract manufacturer in the laptop industry) factories responsible for manufacturing the MacBook Air 12 have already ramped up mass production. The same sources also claim that Quanta is looking to hire additional personnel in order to meet demand. If this info is to be believed, the company plans to hire 30,000 additional employees to stay on the schedule that Apple has already set.
Last week was the first time we've heard about the 12-inch MacBook Air, a new Apple notebook that has allegedly been designed from the ground up with portability in mind. The radical new MacBook Air version is expected to come with high-end internal components, a crystal clear display, as well as a thin and compact construction. According to these rumors, the upcoming MacBook Air 12 will be too thin to use a full-sized USB port, and will also come in a gold color option. The new compact notebook is expected to replace the current 11-inch version of the MacBook Air.
