iPhone 6 to launch on September 19
While recent rumors claimed that Apple is set to release the new iPhone next month, new evidence shows that the handset will arrive in September. A promotional flyer leaked on Chinese social network Weibo and spotted by GSM Insider shows two iPhone 6 versions next to their regional prices and launch date - September 19.
There is no information about the specs and features of the handset in this image, except the size of the two versions that will hit the Chinese market in less than two months from now. The 4.7-inch variant will cost RMB$5,288, roughly $850 USD, while the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will have a price of RMB$6,288 - over $1,000 USD. Considering this difference, it is almost certain that the larger version will also sport some higher specs than its sibling.
Industry insiders claim that Foxconn is hiring personnel for the Zhengzhou plant which already installed the new equipment required to start mass production of the new handsets for Apple. In another report it has been revealed that production of the 4.7-inch model will start this week, while the large iPhone 6 variant will enter production in mid-August.
Remains to see when new information about the specs of these handsets comes out, because Apple will surely hold it off until the last moment, as usual.
