Xiaomi Mi 11: Global launch date fixed for early February
Xiaomi has fixed the launch date of the Mi 11, the first of what will probably many Mi 11 series smartphones to launch this year - at least based on the Mi 9 and Mi 10 series. The Mi 11 arrived in China in December, where it generated Xiaomi over US$600 million in sales from its first 21 days.
The Mi 11 will make its global debut on February 8, with Xiaomi streaming its launch event on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and its community platform. Xiaomi will host the launch event in multiple languages, although all events are synchronised to commence at 12:00 UTC.
It is currently unknown how much Xiaomi will charge for the Mi 11 outside of China. If the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are anything to go by, then the Mi 11 will not be as good value for money as it is China, where it retails for as little as CNY 3,999 (~US$610).
Xiaomi is expected to announce the Mi 11 Pro at some stage, too. However, the company has clearly stated that its February 8 launch event is for the Mi 11, not the Mi 11 series. Hence, we imagine that Xiaomi will unveil the Mi 11 Pro at a later date.
