Xiaomi is probably best known for its smartphones or tablets, but the company is also present in many other markets, including the smart home and accessory segments. The company also has networking products in its lineup. With the BE10000 Pro, Xiaomi is now launching a new WiFi 7 router, although details on a global launch are not available just yet.
That said, it’s already pretty obvious that the Xiaomi BE10000 Pro targets rather demanding users. For wired network connectivity, it provides two Ethernet ports with a bandwidth of 10 Gbps, plus four additional ports with 2.5 Gbps. In many private households, regular Gigabit Ethernet is still the standard these days. To fully utilize such high network speeds, there shouldn't be any bottlenecks. For example, a typical HDD-based NAS often cannot handle such high data transfer rates. The Xiaomi BE10000 Pro router can also act as a network storage since an M.2 SSD can be installed. Alternatively, files on a USB drive can be shared inside the network as well.
Wireless data transfer speeds max out at 10,024 Mbps. Such numbers are always cumulative across all bands and connected devices. Moreover, the Xiaomi BE10000 Pro router is equipped with twelve individual antennas, which are hidden inside the chassis. Instead of a spiky design featuring external antennas, customers can look forward to a WiFi 7 router that arguably looks more appealing. Either way, an AI is intended to prioritize certain traffic, which could be used to prioritize the connection to a PC to achieve lower latency in multiplayer games. Bluetooth is onboard and allows up to 300 devices access the smart home network via the WiFi 7 router. In China, the BE10000 Pro costs the equivalent of roughly $240, but as usual, the MSRP might be higher should the router launch in other regions.
