Vivo has just released the X Fold5, which has usurped the X Fold3 as the world's lightest book-style foldable. Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station has already moved on to one of Vivo's next conventional flagship smartphones. This time the leaker has taken to discussing the X300 Pro, which should arrive less than after Apple replaces the iPhone 16 Pro Max (curr. $1,049 - refurbished on Amazon).
According to Digital Chat Station, Vivo intends to offer the X300 Pro with MediaTek's forthcoming Dimensity 9500 chipset. Incidentally, prospective performance for the Dimensity 9500 has already surfaced on Geekbench, full details of which we have covered separately. Based on earlier reports, Vivo is set to complement the Dimensity 9500 with a battery whose capacity will surpass 7,000 mAh.
Writing on Weibo, Digital Chat Station adds that the X300 Pro will also serve to showcase the IMX09A camera sensor from Sony. Allegedly a replacement for the IMX818 found in devices like the X200 Pro and X200 Pro mini, the IMX09A is rumoured to combine a 1/1.28-inch optical format with 1.22 μm wide pixels and a 50 MP native output.
Moreover, Digital Chat Station alleges that the X300 Pro will offer Sony's ultra-high conversion gain (UHCG) circuit technology to minimise image noise in low-light conditions. The same leaker reports that the device will leverage DCG HDR and DCG+VS technologies too for maximising dynamic range. If that is the case, then the X300 Pro may feature an OmniVision sensor of some sort too. Full details about the X300 Pro are unlikely to emerge until the autumn, though.
