Vigoz from French company Cixi can be seen as a mixture of a car and an e-bike, but its legal classification is quite clear: it can only be used legally on roads, and a driver's license is required to drive it. The model comes with an electric motor that is significantly more powerful than that of an e-bike, advertised with a maximum speed of 120 km/h (75 mph), making it suitable for use on most highways. At a height of 165 centimeters, the vehicle should remain clearly visible and provide good driver visibility.
The advertised range is 160 kilometers, with a battery capacity of 22 kWh that can be charged in 6 hours from a 220-volt outlet. According to Cixi, regenerative braking and pedaling input also help extend the range. A chainless pedal system is installed, allowing for speed control. If you pedal backward, Vigoz also reverses. Drivers also have the benefit of active cooling with fans, which could make working out on the commute more pleasant.
Luggage can be transported on an open loading area at the back, and sliding windows and an air conditioning system are included, promising not only weather protection but also regulation of the interior temperature. Further details can be found on the product page. Information on price or availability is still pending, but the model will be available exclusively as part of a subscription model.
