The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 now costs just $300 more than the Toyota RAV4 in the US. Buyers of the electric sedan will get a premium EV that can travel up to 342 miles between charges and all the other benefits of e-mobility.

For many drivers, the upfront cost is the impediment to switching to electric. However, car buyers in the US can now get the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 for almost the same price as the gas-powered Toyota RAV4. Here is what the electric sedan offers and the cost.

One of the biggest factors considered during EV purchases is the driving range. The Ioniq 6 offers up to 342 miles without boosting the battery. The EV comes with either a 53.0 kWh or 77.4 kWh battery, and your driving range could depend on the type of wheel drive. Charging up to 80 percent on a DC fast charger takes about 18 minutes, and the car can use Tesla's Superchargers thanks to NACS adapters provided by Hyundai.

In the performance department, the Ioniq 6 is specced as 149 hp, 225 hp, and 320 hp, depending on the trim. The slowest trim can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just seven seconds, compared to 8.3 seconds for the most powerful Toyota RAV4.

Inside, Hyundai has chosen a 12.3-inch center touchscreen display for accessing the settings. Another 12.3-inch screen acts as the instrument cluster. The infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM radio. The EV also offers a heads-up display on the windshield.

On the outside, the Ioniq 6 is arguably one of the sleekest cars in its price range. Hyundai has managed to make an aerodynamic EV without sacrificing looks, and many people will agree it has a premium appearance.

Driving aids include Smart Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Viel Monitor, Lane Following Assist, and Blind Spot Collision Warning.

The SE Standard Range trim starts at $37,850, which is just about $300 more expensive than the Toyota RAV4 Limited. The SE and SEL trims cost $42,800 and $45,600, respectively, according to Hyundai USA's website.

Buyers should note that the Ioniq 6 currently does not qualify for the $7,500 federal EV incentive. However, it would be smart to investigate what is available at the state and dealer levels.
