The UP Xtreme from AAEON and UP Board is a particularly powerful single-board computer. Available in Lite or regular models, the UP Xtreme comes with Intel Whiskey Lake processors, plenty of ports, a 40-pin header and a DDR4 SODIMM slot among other features.

AAEON and UP Board have teamed up once again to deliver a potent single-board computer. Last year, the two companies released the UP Xtreme, which they have now followed up with the UP Xtreme Lite. The two boards look similar, but the Lite model lacks a few of the features that the UP Xtreme does, as its name suggests.

Both models are based on a 229 x 181 x 97 mm board and have a DDR4 SODIMM slot, along with M.2 2230 and M.2 2280 bays. AAEON currently offers four Whiskey Lake processors from which to choose. All are 15 W chips and range from the Celeron 4305UE to the Core i7-8665UE. Hence, the UP Xtreme and UP Xtreme Lite support Intel UHD Graphics. There is also a 40-pin header, a SATA connector, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 3.2 ports and two video outputs.

The UP Xtreme supports up to 16 GB of onboard DDR4 RAM though, along with 64 GB of eMMC storage, a 100-pin connector and an STM32 header. The UP Xtreme Lite lacks the mini card slot of the UP Xtreme, too.

AAEON and UP Board are yet to announce the pricing of the UP Xtreme Lite. However, the UP Xtreme can be purchase now from US$250 and up. Hence, we would expect the two companies to position the UP Xtreme Lite at below the US$250 mark.
